"Article & Excerpts from our team members to commemorate Teachers' Day"

An incident
by Trayee Mukheerji

When I was in fourth standard I met with an accident while playing in my
school’s playground.

I fell over the ground with a bad head injury. My class teacher Mrs.
Moulick, suddenly noticed the accident & rushed to me. She held my head
against her chest and tried to cover my wound with her saree. She held me
like that till I was taken to the hospital.

I remember she was wearing a white saree which got stained all over with
my blood. Later, I came to know from some of my friends that it was her
favourite saree and her daughter gifted it to her on her birthday.

After I joined back school, I went to thank her. She smiled at me and
said, “My child you will do the same once you grow up and become a
teacher. Now be careful and don’t meet with another accident”.

Which House I used to live during my college days
Which Color I used to like
Which Girl I used to tease
